Frequently Asked Questions
Navigate through questions regarding access tickets, toll fee, payment process, entry into border post and more.
You will need to replace the ticket at the Zimborders counter in the terminal building. A ticket is paired with a vehicle license plate and/or vehicle VIN number, so you cannot use another ticket. Your vehicle license plate and/or vehicle VIN number will be verified through multiple checkpoints in the border.
You can scan your ticket to determine where you are in the process and which Government agency you still need to visit to process relevant documentation.
You will need to determine which agency needs to scan your ticket. A Zimborders employee can assist by doing a status check. You might have to go back to the terminal building to complete the process. Alternatively, if there is a glitch in the system, a boom override will be performed. If the ticket is damaged and won’t scan, you will need to get a new ticket at the Zimborders counter inside the terminal building.
You can scan your ticket at the self-help kiosk in the terminal building or ask any Zimborders employee for assistance.
There is an LED screen in the terminal building as well as overlooking the parking area which will call your vehicle out by registration number when it is ready to leave the parking area.
The border access toll fee does not replace the gate pass. The gate pass fee is charged for using the bridge, known as the “Bridge Fee”, and will still be charged by ZINARA. The border access toll fee is in addition to the gate pass.

Ensure you pay at the correct terminal. If travelling via the freight lane, do not buy coupons at the light vehicle or bus terminal. Also confirm your direction — a coupon bought at the Southbound terminal cannot be used when travelling North.
If you have paid twice and a re-issue to a different vehicle VRN is possible, kindly request a Zimborders Cashier Supervisor to perform this — only if the coupon has not been used.
If a re-issue is not possible, submit a refund request to refunds@zimborders.com. Refunds can take up to 14 days to process once all required documentation has been received.
Korridor is a third-party company that manages the prepaid voucher option for Zimborders. The company manages en-route expenses. Please contact them directly at korridor.com/contactus.

If the vehicle has no registration plate, the vehicle papers need to be presented as proof of ownership. The vehicle papers will need to be handed to the entry gate cashier and the vehicle VIN number will be manually typed in by the entry gate cashier.
If the vehicle has a temporary registration plate, the vehicle papers will need to be handed to the entry gate cashier and the temporary registration plate will be manually typed in. This can be done at the Zimborders counter inside the terminal building by a Zimborders supervisor.

A runner can do pre-clearance at the bus and freight terminal, but the ticket will need to be scanned at every Government agency on the day the vehicle crosses the border, as this is the process for the movement of the vehicle through the site.
